They Are Planning Against You — But They Forgot About Allah

What if your name is being discussed in rooms you never entered—and someone already knows why that door suddenly closed?

“You don’t have to discover every plot against you for Allah to protect you from it.”

What if the person smiling at you already knows something you don’t? Someone may shake your hand—and secretly hope you fail. Someone may congratulate you—and hate the blessing they are congratulating you for. Someone may know exactly why that door suddenly closed while you are still awake at night asking: “Yā Allah… what happened?”

And perhaps the most painful part is this: you may never find out. But Allah already knows.

وَيَمْكُرُونَ وَيَمْكُرُ ٱللَّهُ ۖ وَٱللَّهُ خَيْرُ ٱلْمَاكِرِينَ
“They plan, and Allah plans. And Allah is the best of planners.”Qur’an 8:30

They Had a Plan for the Prophet ﷺ Too

This āyah was revealed concerning something far more serious than gossip. The Quraysh were secretly plotting against the Prophet ﷺ—considering whether to restrain him, kill him or expel him.

People were discussing his future while he was not in the room. They believed that because he did not know their plan, he was helpless against it.

But Allah was already aware of the room they excluded him from.

Nothing was hidden from Him. And nothing being planned against you today is hidden from Him either.

Stop Destroying Your Peace Trying to Find Out Who

Who hates me? Who spoke against me? Who blocked me? Who gave me the evil eye? Who performed sihr? Who doesn’t want to see me succeed?

Slowly, suspicion can begin eating the peace that the enemy could not take from you.

You don’t have to discover every plot against you for Allah to protect you from it.

If there is genuine reason to suspect spiritual harm, Islam gives you means of protection: Qur’an, morning and evening adhkār, duʿā and permissible ruqyah. But your protection does not depend upon discovering a name.

Sometimes Allah may never show you who wanted you to fall. He may simply refuse to let you fall.

But What If Their Plan Actually Worked?

This is where it hurts. Sometimes the job really disappears. The relationship breaks. People believe the lie. The opportunity goes somewhere else. And you wonder: “So where was Allah when they succeeded?”

But be careful what you call success. You are judging their plan from the chapter you are currently living in. Allah knows the ending.

The door they helped close may force you towards a door that changes your life. What feels today like sabotage may become something you thank Allah for years later.

And Sometimes Nobody Is Plotting Against You

There must also be balance. Not every closed door is an enemy. Not every failed relationship is evil eye. Not every financial difficulty is sihr. Sometimes life is difficult. Sometimes we make poor decisions. Sometimes Allah tests us.

Take reasonable precautions without turning everyone around you into a suspect. Shayṭān can fail to destroy your life through an enemy—and then succeed by making you afraid of enemies everywhere.

Let Them Plan

Protect yourself. Keep some blessings private. Read your adhkār. Maintain your ṣalāh. Perform ruqyah when genuinely necessary. Take practical action when someone is harming you.

But after you have done what you can, sleep.

You were never appointed to guard the universe. Allah does not sleep.

Someone may be planning tonight while you know absolutely nothing about it. Before their plan reaches you, it has already passed through the knowledge of Allah.

So stop allowing what people might be doing behind your back to control what is happening inside your heart.

✦

“Their plan may explain what happened. It does not determine what happens next.”

They plan. Allah plans. And Allah is the best of planners.
